What is Millwork?
Crown moulding, interior doors, desk tabletops, window casing, chair rails, base trim, and wood panelling are all examples of millwork traditionally produced in a sawmill. In the past, all of these things were cut and made from raw lumber in a sawmill, hence the word millwork.
Thus, millwork has become a catch-all term describing a wide range of products which includes: desks, office cubicle systems, filing cabinets, fireplace mantels, wall panelling, reception desks or desks with integrated booths or counters with or without storage.
Cabinetry is sometimes grouped with millwork in this category, however, builders and contractors often separate cabinetry into its own category.
