The Ancaster Fair is one of Ontario’s longest-running agriculture fairs, gathering rides, food, and vendors for a multitude of products from local sellers. Held at the fairgrounds in mid-September, it provides a fresh introduction to autumn for those familiar or unfamiliar with Ancaster.

Highlights:

Rides & Games – Classic carnival attractions and games for all ages to play

Food Vendors – From food trucks with classic burgers to fairground staples and specialties such as candy apples, poutine, and funnel cakes

Animal Shows & Food Contests – Horses, cattle, and other friendly farm animals take the spotlight in traditional competitions, while pie and hot sauce eating competitions are available.

Local Exhibits & Crafts – Handmade crafts, art, and homegrown produce can be shown on display for all visitors to look, with Homecraft classes that offer baking, canning, and fall crafts for all levels of creativity

Live Entertainment – Stages shows, local singer and family-friendly performers all showcasing their talents throughout the fair week and weekend. Aside from the stages, The Demolition Derby is a fair staple that runs every fair night, Thursday through Saturday starting at 7:30pm.

While it’s focused on vehicles and automotive parts, it’s also a space where people enjoy browsing, finding unique car accessories, and chatting with other enthusiasts.

For families with kids of any age, friends who want a fun activity for their hangout, and anyone who overall enjoys the magic of autumn, the Ancaster Pumpkin Pop-Up offers an afternoon filled with seasonal fun. Starting at the BIA office, participants can trick-or-treat, take part in kids’ activities, and enjoy candy, prizes, and festive fun across Ancaster Village.
